Happy 7th Birthday
to Fox Pointe Publishing!

July 2019 is when Fox Pointe became a reality. We had just two authors at that time: Carmen Tribbett & myself. Less than six months later, by 9:05 am on January 1st, we had four authors: myself, Carmen, Thea Kvamme, and Amy Gregg. From there, we have continued to grow in both the number of authors who have joined our ‘skulk’ (the term for a group of foxes, pointed out by Amy Gregg) and the number of titles, now well over 100. We have had a few authors go, but most have remained, and we continue to produce books by those authors as well as by those who have come aboard in recent years.

I will also add that I know today is the 7th, and this Newsletter is ‘fashionably late’. But I figured no one missed any sleep from not getting this email on the 1st, and that even on the 7th, it would still be July and the beginning of the 3rd quarter. (I can justify anything!)

Plus, with this Newsletter going out on July 7th - the 7th day of the 7th month of the year - during our 7th year of business, and featuring 7 new books in production… It’s good that I waited for today’s date. ;-)

So, without further adieu, here’s what we are cooking up during these hot days of summer to have ready for the upcoming autumn and winter holiday sales:

Our newest author, Barb Page, has her first children’s book, Journey to the Northwoods, in production; the illustrations are finishing up, and then it’s off to Design to be ready for its September 2026 release. You can read more about Barb and her new children’s book here.

Along with Barb’s debut book, Kayla is staying busy with illustrations of Flutterbys shown below this paragraph, and the book is slated for a September 2026 release. This is the fourth in the Gray Valley Series by Paula Baysinger Morhardt. The first three titles in the series are Best Magic of All, Rose Gets Her Name, and Gluggle Finds a Friend. Kayla continues to create the magical illustrations that have made these titles enchanting to little ones over the years.

One of our most recent authors, Leah Dessner, released her first book, Moms Get Sick, Too, in May. Her second book, My Mom Doesn’t Know My Name, is in Illustration right now, with the third book waiting impatiently in the wings. Here are some illustration rough drafts for Leah’s second book:

Amy Gregg, author of the Accidental Farmer Series, while working on the third cozy mystery in that series, has written a new book entitled Media Blitz. It’s the first in a sports romance series set in Minnesota, featuring a fictional women's hockey team, which is finishing up in editing right now and will be on the Designer’s desk by the end of this week. It is set for release in September/October of this year.

AJ Sullivan is getting in on the ‘2026 New Releases’, too, with a new Beginning Chapter Reader for older children who are in the age range of 6 to 10-years-old. Following the wildly popular title, Finkle & Frannie among kids in that age range, Sunny with Freckles is sure to keep them entertained, too. This title will go into production in August, so more information will be included in the Q4 Newsletter. In the meantime, please check out her current titles on her webpage.

And last but not least, and only after 7 years of sitting on the back burner… (a whole ‘7’ thing going on here…), The JELLYBEANS Activity Book is back in production with a hopeful end-of-2026 release date. But being there never seems to be enough time in a day, it may very well go into 2027. I will add that the talented Chelsea (my only daughter and co-publisher extraordinaire) is doing the design work, and she is even busier than I am. But since the release of my 7th book (there’s that ‘7’ thing again), I have a fire underneath me to get all of my other manuscripts back into production, and this activity book is the one furthest along at this time.
