Happy New Year from the Sonoran Desert! That’s right, I’m sending this Fox Talk Newsletter from my RV as I ‘boondock’ in the middle of a desert… soaking up the sun and warmth. Powered by solar and fully contained, I’m surrounded by creosote bushes, ironwood trees, and saguaro cactus. Coyotes howl at night, while roadrunners and mountain quail entertain during the daylight hours. (The rattle snakes and scorpions are currently hibernating underground. Whew!) But it’s still ‘business as usual’ and a couple of days ago, Carol Makkyla joined the Fox Pointe crew as 2024 was closing out. She’s so new, that I haven’t yet put together her webpage! (I’ll be working on it with her over the next handful of days.) But I do know that she is coming in with a ‘fan-fiction’ sequel to Pride & Prejudice, and it’s slated for a 2026 release. She hails from the Twin Cities area in MN (Mpls/St. Paul), and is very excited to get going with the process of putting her debut novel together to share with the world. January is filled with 2024 wrap-up business as well as adding more events to our 2025 schedule, which I will post once it all ‘settles out’. I’ll be doing school visits for book readings over the next few months while promoting Fox Pointe, as a whole. Literary and community events will be starting up again toward the middle of February and early March, too. I’ll be doing various B2C events in the southwest while I’m down here through April before starting my trek northward, getting off the desert floor for the summer months, and selling along my intended travel routes. Looking ahead at new releases and springtime books, our now ‘veteran’ author Ann Schreiber has her second book coming out in a few months, and her first book just released a couple of weeks ago in December. I will add, while I read both of her books prior to publication, I noticed she could easily be referred to as the next ‘Tony Robbins’ for life and work coaching. Her books have a lot (and I mean A LOT) of information in them! Both books read as if you’re sitting in her living room, having afternoon tea, and she is sharing all of her knowledge with you! (You may want to take notes...) ;-) Definitely do yourself a ‘New Year’s’ favor and check out her webpage link below. I think that’s about it for now - or that’s all I can remember at the moment. The latter part of that sentence is probably closer to the truth. But I put this channel together so my kids could keep tabs on their crazy mom, and I could look back at my adventures and wonder who the ‘nice lady’ is on the videos when my memory starts going. Oh, who am I kidding? My memory has already started disappearing… ;-) *My YT Channel has nothing to do with professionalism or formality. It’s all for fun and you’ll see me in my pajamas, and at different events, and all of my trials and tribulations of being an RV owner, etc. This vlog is strictly for entertainment.
